Paper, Panels and Pictures - 3 Ways With Wallpaper

Share Article

Introducing some of the newest wallpaper designs from Crown / Fine Decor available at Colour Supplies Home & Garden stores in Oswestry, Whitchurch and Wrexham.
Here are 3 ideas on how you might want to use these beautiful wallpapers and with wallpaper and decorating trends for 2022 focusing on nature, updates of old prints, and greens or blues as big colour themes, these are our top picks from our latest designs.

Let's face it, when it comes to putting up wallpaper it can be tricky for the inexperienced. And much as we might love the latest designs of wallpaper, you may not want it around your whole room. One of the obvious trends is to take a beautiful patterned wallpaper and use it on a feature wall - which is what we have shown here in each of our first options.

But if this is a little out of your comfort zone and you would like to add a 'wow' without quite so much 'pow' we have other ideas for easily adding wallpaper to your home in more subtle ways.

How about our other two ideas below?

You could add your own panelling around the lower wall in a whole room and wallpaper above - perhaps adding some decorative coving in a toning paint colour? This is a great way to make wallpaper go further, is super stylish and also looks very grand. This is great for those with a 1930's house where you often have high ceilings.

If you feel this style won't suit your house, how about our third option which is suitable for any home, and particularly newer houses.  Source some large picture frames and simply cut panels of your favourite paper to size, and hang. Groups of three look great for this, and you can either match each panel with the design, or have them all slightly different which highlights different parts of your wallpaper design. A stunning effect and easier than creating repeat wallpaper panelling as seen in the interiors on Bridgerton!

Customer projects

Mrs H shared these pictures with us of a recent project in her Boot Room.

She used a beautiful metallic Damask wallpaper, bought from Colour Supplies, above mock paneling with a dado rail in co-ordinating Little Greene 'Pale Wedgewood' paint. One wall remains plain with no paneling or paper.
And there's a secret door to a cupboard to hide the vacuum away!

"Wallpaper with metallic accents help the light bounce around this small room giving interest as I go in and out, and is different throughout the day. I wasn't sure these two colour choices would go together, but they seem to work. I love it!"
